Account deletion
How to remove your Bitecast account and associated household data.
Bitecast lets you delete your account and the personal data we store for your household. This page satisfies Apple App Store account-deletion requirements and mirrors our Privacy Policy — your choices.
Option 1 — In the app (recommended)
- Open Bitecast and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Account (or contact support if deletion is not yet visible in your build).
- Follow the prompts to confirm deletion.
Account deletion in-app is rolling out with TestFlight builds. If you do not see the control yet, use the privacy request form below.
Option 2 — Privacy request form
Submit a privacy request on GitHub and select deletion. Include the email tied to your Auth0 / Bitecast login so we can verify ownership.
What we delete
- Your account profile, @handle, and household membership
- Saved recipes, meals, planner entries, and chat history
- Grocery lists, pantry notes, and household preferences
- Subscription linkage on our servers (App Store billing remains in Apple)
What may be retained
- Records we must keep for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or security obligations (typically limited metadata, not your cookbook content)
- Encrypted backups until their normal rotation window expires
- Anonymized or aggregated analytics that cannot identify you
Timing
We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. You will receive confirmation when processing finishes. Active App Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
